Notes:
A strong powertrain, possibly blow the 5.0. I believe Ford makes a factory-warranty bolt-on supercharger that'll up the hp to pushing 600.
This I like. Lots of room for improvement in the Coyote engine. I just can't see any wrong reason for using this massive powerhouse. Yes, it weighs 4XXlbs
which sounds heavy, but well worth the 400-odd hp I'll have. Who knows? Maybe the custom headers/exhaust will add some more horsies, plus the blower,
oh yes, I'm liking this idea.
The transmission I chose for a couple reasons, rated at 600 ft-lb of torque It will easily handle and mods I do to the engine, plus it's supposed to be very reliable. I think that 3rd gear goes out, but that might be a difference transmission I was reading about. I'll look into that more later.
IRS, well duh, I want the smoothest ride money can buy. People say IRS is bad for the 1320'. But from what I've seen on modern cars this is (while not being untrue) not enough to deter me from the benefits of IRS. Not to mention I plan on actually DRIVING this car, not just going fast in a straight line.
I love the design of the swing axle, last night I was up for hours trying to design an axle to do what I wanted...I came up with something that would work. Then I looked up IRS and BOOM, my swing axle. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to take credit for the design of the swing axle, hardly so, I'm trying to say the swing axle is exactly what I want in a rear suspension.
The wheels I chose are for a couple reasons also. Large tires look nice. 17", while not exaclty large, are big for a car this size. Wider in the rear (10.5") will make traction less of a problem when quickly accelerating. Not sure what tires I’ll be getting yet, so many choices…must investigate further.
The paint is as shown above, torn between the classic blue or the Bad-to-the-Bone looking Black/Silver. Either way I'm fairly certain I'll be drooling a tad everything I open my garage door.
The Options: PS and PB seems fairly self explanatory. A/C I hear might be a room issue. I believe FFR is going to start selling kits with parts for the Coyote. Maybe I'm being hopeful. Either way I'll be able to fab something up. The headers from the coyote won't fit I don't think. fab fab fab...
The idea of all of this is to build a legendary car with legendary parts.
Legendary car - the shape, the history, the performance...everything about the Shelby coupe screams perfection.
Legendary parts - All the parts I want to use are built around one thing, the Coyote. The Coyote is the rebirth of a legend.
I imagine If I put a legendary powertrain into a legendary car...maybe I'll have a legend of my own, no, not world recognition legendary, not nationally either. I want a car that will be a legend among others like it. Something with power to make run-of-the-mill rice burner scared to come outside. Yet with a skilled driver, have the potential to be a daily-driver.
EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE!!!
These are my findings, this is my first revision.
